Tavi Hawn is a Southern lover of books, music, a special dog named Scully (remember the X-Files?), a cat named Lionel, a spider-loving scientist and a baby named Waya (pronounced Wa-hya).They are a multi-racial Indigenous Two Spirit and trans person. Tavi is a co-founder of QORDS, a nonprofit summer camp for queer and transgender youth and youth of LGBTQ+ families. They also have founded 2 multi-racial healing centers with all queer and trans providers-one in NC and one in MD. Tavi is the author of Cultural Awareness in Therapy with Trans, Two Spirit, and Gender Non-Conforming Adults and Older People, and The Gender Identity Guide for Parents: Compassionate Advice to Help Your Child Be Their Most Authentic Self. Whenever possible (a challenge with a toddler), Tavi likes to read, dance, hike in the woods, grow food and medicines, travel, play their drum kit and hand drum, hug their elders, and eat.
