Gender Spectrum
Director Research, Policy and Practice
Kim Westheimer is the Director of Research, Policy and Practice for Gender Spectrum where she leads programming related to partnerships and research. Gender has been a recurring thread in her work: whether encouraging students to examine their own gender stories or developing systemic approaches to build inclusive PK – 12 schools. Prior to being at Gender Spectrum, she directed the launching of Welcoming Schools at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. She is the coauthor of When the Drama Club is Not Enough, which details the beginnings of the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ students at the Massachusetts Department of Education, a program which she directed.
