Nicola Hare (she/her) is the Program Coordinator at ANKORS Trans Connect, a community based program with a focus on transgender peer support, health navigation, and mentorship initiatives that benefit transgender, non-binary, gender diverse people and their families. Program services include community education workshops and collaboration with other service providers within the East and West Kootenay and Boundary region.
Nicola’s past work history includes: policy work in private industry, health and safety program implementation, and roles in a variety of non-profit, community and social service organizations as team lead, director, facilitator, secretary, harm reduction worker and volunteer coordinator.
Nicola is a white settler of scottish/irish ancestry living and working on the unceded and stolen ancestral territory (tum'x'ula) of the sinixt people.
She is a skilled textile artist/hand weaver, and lives in an off-grid cooperative community near so called Nelson BC.
